Hello,
I’d like to collect useful sources (articles, books, reports, etc.) about the principles of mathematical modelling of infectious diseases using dynamic transmission models. I’m especially interested in publications presenting an overview of general properties or use cases of such models. However, papers discussing particular setting, but containing an introductory or “theoretical” section that is informative and general enough, or introducing some influential concepts, are also welcome.
Examples of publications I’ve encountered:
-
Vynnycky, E., White, R. (2010) An Introduction to Infectious Disease Modelling. Oxford University Press, Oxford. ISBN: 9780198565765.
https://anintroductiontoinfectiousdiseasemodelling.com/
A book containing a thorough introduction to dynamic models. -
Bjørnstad, O.N., Shea, K., Krzywinski, M. et al. (2020) The SEIRS model for infectious disease dynamics. Nat Methods 17, 557–558.
The SEIRS model for infectious disease dynamics | Nature Methods
An super-short article (2 pages) on simple extensions of the basic SIR model.
Feel free to share the sources that you find useful!
